A couple of months ago, several of our regulars who work at State Employees Credit Union approached me about supporting the SECU Family House in their “Men Who Cook” charity in 2026. Of course, I was all in. So I recruited our guy Yev, who has spent years in food service and catering, and the fellas from Smoke Revival Meat Company to get our team together. They graciously agreed, so we are officially participating in the Men Who Cook fundraiser on Saturday August 15 at Legacy Stables, where our team will be one of 16 that will be cooking, plating, and serving small plates of a signature dish to the attendees. It’s going to be so cool!
What’s our signature dish, you ask? Peach Tea Glazed Pork Belly with Collards and Cornbread Crumble! Sounds pretty good, huh?! Well we decided to serve it to you, our beloved guests, first. So we invite you to join us on Saturday August 1 for supper by Smoke Revival Meat Company and we will be offering the Pork Belly dish that evening.
If you have never had Smoke Revival, you’re in for a treat! If you have, you know exactly how tasty this promises to be. These guys almost always sell out, so don’t lollygag either.
That evening, we will have opportunities for you to donate “Tips” to our Men Who Cook team. Our team goal is $3000 which we hope to hit before 8/15. We would be honored if you felt inclined to contribute to our efforts.
Additionally, we will be raffling off two tickets to the event itself that evening, a $200 value.
Please make plans to stop by on 8/1 to sample the dish, have supper, and support us as we help the SECU Family House provide care for those dealing with a family crisis.
We will also be raffling off two tickets to the actual event (held on August 15 at Legacy Stables), a $200 value, to one lucky winner.
We hope to see you on Saturday August 1. Thank you!
