Winnie Pour Wednesday

Our friend Winnie is always on the lookout for a killer wine deal. And her idea of a great pour is heavier than normal, and a bit cheaper than usual. So once a month, we source a killer wine, and oblige on the pour.

A Winnie Wine Pour is an 8 oz serving of killer wine for just $6.

One day only. From the time we open, until last call or we run out, whichever comes first.

Our August selection features two lovely wines from Les Chemins de Bassac in the Languedoc region of Southern France. The husband and wife pair of Bruno and Thama Trigueiro are the owners and winemakers, their estate covering 49 acres that was once a vineyard, then a pasture for horses, then back to a vineyard. They are certified organic and biodynamic, growing seven varieties of grapes with the utmost care and least intervention possible. They use only wild yeasts, they stir the wines regularly, and utilize a variety of methods for aging.

2022 “A Deriva - Vers La Nature” is a beautiful blend of Pinot Noir (80%) and Syrah (20%) that offers a first impression of blackberry compote, followed by lively fruit and perfect acidity, with a touch of olive tapenade at the end. It’s lovely, a damn near perfect expression of ideal reds from the South of France.

2021 “L’universe Parallele” is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, so as you would expect, there is a ton of fresh fruit throughout the palate. Cassie and I actually bought a box of this (yes, there are good wines available in the box sometimes!) and we have been crushing it at home. This wine has a hint of cellaring, but it’s pretty simple: berries, slate, and way better than it should be!

We have six bottles of each available. That means only 24 pours of each one. Come grab an 8 oz pour of one or both for just $6. One night only and while supplies last. You will NOT be disappointed.
