Brouwerij DuBois is home of the world-famous “Winnie Pour” and if you don’t know… well, you’re about to.
Our good friend Winnie is not necessarily a beer gal, she’s more of a wine and liquor fan. And when she wants wine, she doesn’t mind something affordable as long as the pour is robust. And so that got us thinking… What if we sourced high-quality and yet affordable wines and every now and again poured them out in more hearty, hefty servings? Could we do it in her honor?
The answer is a resounding “YES” so we are getting to it.
The August wines are:
Bodega Katxina Txakoli is a refreshing and lovely white from the Basque town of Orio in Northern Spain. It is made of 100% Hondarrabi zuri grapes, harvested manually in September, and aged for just 3 to 4 months following fermentation. It is vibrant and designed to be consumed young.
Bodega Familia Schroeder Saurus Pinot Noir hails from the Patagonia region of Argentina. The grapes are picked by hand, fermented in stainless with a portion then aged in oak barrels. The Finished product is bright and fruity with red berry notes, earthy mushroom vibes, and a mineral aroma. Vanilla and cocoa undertones from the oak aging spring up as well.
