Art is the lifeblood of our culture, and music is the chosen medium for so many of us. We commune, imbibe, listen, reflect, and collectively breathe in the emotions and memories. Time and place stand still when the notes float. At Brouwerij DuBois, we embrace the nurturing tradition of gathering around a music man (or woman) and letting go. Our preference, as befits out ideals of “doing it yourself,” is to book local singer/songwriters willing to venture to our little corner and perform works that they themselves have written. These songs and stories are genuine, reflective of personal experiences and long-gone moments conjured to remind us how to feel alive in a sometimes bleak, sometimes relentless world.
Slow down. Listen. Breathe.
On Saturday October 5, we welcome two new performers to our patio for a moonlit performance of original works.
Jacob Justice will begin at 7 PM, followed by Zack Brock around 8:15 or 8:30. Each will perform for roughly one hour, doing solely their own compositions. You can listen to Wagon Wheel in the car on the way home…
Bring a lawn chair or two as seating can get to be limited. The weather looks lovely, but it’s never a bad idea to stash a jacket. It’s October after all. And consider carpooling. Our lot has limited parking, so if you are attending with friends, meet up at one house and come together. Or park at Small Mart and carpool across the street to us.
The bar will be open until 10. Bear Creek BBQ Food Truck will be serving from 5-9 PM.
We invite you to join us and support these local artists.
