A couple months back, when our good friends at Foothills Brewing were celebrating their TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY (congrats fam!) they were apparently rummaging around in the depths of the cellar and realized that way back behind some other stuff, there was a single keg of their highly acclaimed Baltic Porter collecting dust. Turns out, it was the 2010 vintage of a beer that they only released in 2005, 2007, 2010, and 2014. That’s a 15 year old keg, folks.
Foothills’ Sales Rep Nick called me immediately to see if he would be interested in it, asked permission from the bosses, and got the go ahead to send it our way. Thanks Jamie! Of course, we said “YES!” and jumped at the opportunity. That Baltic Porter is one of my all time favorite brews, one that I have gotten to enjoy on several occasions, and I would love to see them do it again (wink, wink TL!) and Nick knew it.
Once the keg arrived, an old converted home brew keg covered in dust and dirt, we figured we better taste the contents to see if it is still good. And yall, it’s tasty!
But with something so unique and beloved, we didn’t want to just tap it on a random night where those that would truly appreciate it were unable to get some. So instead, we are planning to make a night around it complete with supper.
Register now to make sure you get your pour. Here’s how it works:
Registration includes one Baltic Porter Pour ticket, redeemable between 6 PM and 7:30 PM for your allotted 8 oz pour of Foothills 2010 Baltic Porter.
Registration also includes one Supper ticket, redeemable between 6 and 8:30 PM at the Bear Creek BBQ food truck parked outside for a plate that includes 2 Pulled Pork Sliders with a specially made Sexual Chocolate BBQ Sauce, a side of smoked ham baked beans, and a side of slaw.
After 7:30 PM, we will allow guests the opportunity to purchase additional pours of the Baltic Porter until the keg runs out.
Other drinks are available for purchase, including several Foothills staples.
Bear Creek BBQ will have additional sliders for sale, along with potentially other food items, but the Supper Ticket cannot be used for anything other than the designated plate.
Must be 21 and up to purchase/attend.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a final taste of one of the greatest beers ever produced in Winston-Salem. Space is limited and only 55 tickets are available for purchase. If you are a fan of this particular beer, of Foothills Brewing in general, or of craft brewing history, you won’t want to miss this evening.
Cheers!
